Neneh Cherry (born March 10, 1964 in Stockholm) is a musician world health organization blended hip hop with other influences to a bit of mainstream profits. Her stepfather, Don Cherry, was an extremely influential jazz musician. Her brother Eagle Eye Cherry is also the far-famed musician. Neneh began performing fallowing dropping away from school & moving to London, where she joined a punk rock band The Cherries.

Cherry pass through many elastic, including New Age Steppers and Rip Rig & Panic (which included a guest spot on BBC sitcom The Young Ones in 1982) before beginning a solo career with "Stop the War" (a protest song about the Falkland Islands). She besides worked by owning The The and her husband, Cameron McVey, who wrote virtually all of her debut album Raw Prefer Sushi. Her individual "Buffalo Stance" was an international blockbuster & she stimulated tilt whenever she performed a song - complete by owning gyrating choreography - on UK television program Top Of The Pops while very heavy pregnant.. Buffalo Stance sooner or later peaked at total Trey on the UK popular stock & index stock and index charts and first on the Western Dance charts, becoming one of 1988's large club anthems. Additional singles freed between 1988-1990 involved a slower "Manchild", "Kisses In The Wind" & "Inner City Mama", 100% of which manufactured a top Twenty inside Britain.

She was intimately required in the Bristol Urban Culture scene, working as an arranger on Massive Attack's Blue Lines album, and helping call at various more ways in the scene. Famously, she gave birth when Shara Nelson was recording the vocals for the album in the equivalent home.

Lyme disease kept her from tremendously activity until 1992, when she worked by owning Michael Stipe and Gang Starr. "Seven Seconds", the 1994 hit, was a collaboration by owning Youssou N'Dour, remaining on the charts for nearly half a year. Her latest album is 1996's Man.
